There must be something wrong with me. I see couples who wish to enhance their lovemaking buying various and sundry “things.” They buy edible underwear. Husbands may buy movies to attempt to get their wives “in the mood.” Some couples have massagers and various devices. And quite frankly I don’t understand. I see great lovemaking as something that is achieved by subtraction and not addition. True passion within the marriage bed is something that is achieved by an anointing from God Himself and a taking away of distractions.

Adam and Eve did not even have clothes let alone the chewable and lickable varieties. The biggest lovemaking tip for today’s married couple is to take away the distractions. Get away from the cell phone. Take away the television and turn it off. Remove the responsibilities, stressors and problems that haunt your mind at your job and follow you home. Take away the distractions some people derive by the constant head jerking to look at the new “fine” guy who just joined the company. Truly seek the Lord to give you a heart for your spouse and your spouse only. Are whips and chains for added excitement or do they say “you by yourself are not enough for me anymore” so lets bring in the leather clad circus?

If I subtract the noise, will I actually hear your voice and hear what you are saying and understand your concerns so that we may share our hearts? The answer is yes but the IPOD must be turned off and the headphones must be off my ears.

Adams and Eve had a huge advantage over us. They did not have two laptops hooked to broadband on both sides of the marriage bed nor did they have the NFL in High Definition.

Picture an olive-complected, sculpted nude man standing beneath a waterfall on a lagoon. His days are filled skinny dipping in the lakes and feeding the exotic creatures from his hands. He watches the sun set over the white beaches every evening and eats succulent fruits during the days.

The illuminating rays of the sun warm his unclothed body. He is surrounded with God’s best works and when the winds whip up and kick sand in his face, he simply says, “Calm down.” And they do because he was created to subdue. And subdue he does. Even the animals must obey him. He is the man.
