Part 1: The God of New Beginnings and the Sexless Marriage
 

Many say that Jesus’ moment of agonizing decision was in the garden of Gethsemane. Here he sweated great drops of blood in anticipation and full understanding of the price to be paid for the world. I, however, believe there must have been an earlier point of decision in the beginning.

Man was on earth and Jesus was in heaven and God decided to send his son through the lineage of David. Maybe there was some great meeting in heaven between the father and the son. Maybe Jesus took some time off, retreated and reviewed the full scope of things to come before coming to earth. Possibly Jesus was shown a movie of the destiny of man if he did not give the ultimate sacrifice and what would happen if he did. Nonetheless, Jesus became flesh.

Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to understand all the things God has in store for us and our families when we answer the call. Many times we simply stand in a difficult place, a place of decision which later we will realize was our place of beginning. It was at that place when it all changed.

God is an alpha God. That’s what makes him so great. He starts with nothing. Certainly the world was created in six days and then on the seventh he rested. However, there was a place at the beginning when God stepped out on nothing. That’s why God is the alpha God. He creates from nothing.

Revelation 1:8

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

You may look at your spouse today and say to yourself “I can’t stand you. You make me sick.” For you there may be nothing left. Deep in your Spirit there will be a voice speaking to you saying “don’t pack it in yet” and you must step up and answer the call. Will you bear the cross? Will you pay the ultimate sacrifice and go down? Will you humble yourself? Will you take the first step? Will you forgive?

Tell God how you feel. Talk to him. For many marriages, there is nothing. There is no intimacy. There is no love. For others there is love but the raging fire has progressed over time into a stack of embers due to neglect and the busyness of life. Will you lay your body down and give all of you to your husband and put him at the top of your priority list? Husband will you do the same?

I thought “When One Flesh Worships” was finished but the Lord said you make sure my precious women and men know I am “The Alpha God. I am the God of starting over, mending, repairing and fixing.”
